About the course
Book Club is designed to give students a head-start in reading, comprehending, and analyzing text. Although children may read books in school, they're rarely given an opportunity to really understand or analyze the text at their own pace or in detail. Additionally, most students do not read books in their free time. With this knowledge, our academy has designed a course that can resolve both issues and make reading interesting (possibly fun) for students.

Components of the course
Reading together
Educators have stated that the benefits of reading in a group setting (interaction, cooperative learning, and healthy competition) can lead to confidence in social settings. Our course aims to create a tight-knit class that will be able to provide this confidence and these benefits for your child and more.
Discussions/Debates
Educators state that verbalization and reporting what students learned in a group setting improves retention of materials, confidence, and encourages their peers. Group discussions, fun presentations, and healthy debates also improve confidence for students in different social settings. Our course aims to fulfill these benefits for your child through our discussions.
Analysis
One of the most important skills that students lack in secondary and higher education is analyzing text. Whether it be standardized testing, Advanced Placement (AP) courses or even college courses, students will always be expected to analyze/interpret text. Our course is focused on developing and enhancing this necessary skill in your child.
Writing
Writing is one of the most necessary skills to have in any stage of life. Although reading may be the focal point of this course, it will be supplemented by writing assignments. However, our aim is to enhance your child's writing abilities through creative/fun ways for your child to enjoy writing.
